Not by any stretch of the imagination a light read, but a thoughtful and creative look into the birth of psychoanalysis and the struggle with Existenz that faced the world at the time and both helped birth one of the most important mind therapies and also one of the great Western philosophical movements, Existentialism. And the only thing that ist fascinating that a novel, that is so full of stilted dialogue, is apparently an international bestseller.
