The names are the chapter names from the book. McCallum also visited and corresponded with many of the most famous weight men of the time in order to find ksys the real scoop about how they trained. His programs for sets and reps, such as they xomplete, were generally correct though this ultimately differs from lifter to lifter. Not many people know about Hip Belt Squats but you can read all about them on pages … that includes details on setup, how to incorporate them and hohn other exercises that should be performed with them.
I read some of them for the training information, some of them for the inspirational photos, some for the advertising of various products and some for just plain entertainment.

A fun read, this is a collection of articles the author wrote for the magazine Strength and Health from the mid-sixties to the early seventies. Each one had a different approach to training, each one had their reasons for being there. It’s an entertaining read, I highly recommend it. As a matter of fact, I occasionally use some of the same routines from that series today, some 40 years later!
Hey, it ain’t perfect, but it’s an entertaining read and you could in fact, you WILL get a lot worse lifting advice elsewhere. How long should your workouts last?
No mention of steroids, some of the nutritional advice doesn’t hold up, but the workout advice is solid, old school stuff. He’s also right that focusing on the heavy, multi-muscle group exercises stimulates real gains better than anything else.
